For shredded paper only use plain printer paper, you can mix in toilet paper as well, But dont use the one with inks or the note pad one. The ones are told you are safe to us bt aren't as absorbent or durable as regular bedding made for hamster would be. So your cage will be smelly. As for the rest for the question the answer is no, its not safe. Hope i helped :)

1: if you do use the paper you need to make sure that the ink is dry. It takes over 5 weeks before newspaper and regualer paper ink is completly dry and animal safe. Also I don't recommend useing notepad paper or the printer paper because it isn't absorbant. I would go with shredded newpaper.

3: Toilet paper would work but you need alot more of it and it is too absorbant, you could say. You would need to change the wet spots every other day or so, but that is same with everything.

5: DO NOT USE SOIL! Hamster like to dig and burrow, true, but they will do that with their beding! Soil from outside is toxic to pets with the exception of the dog or cat. Same with the inside soil because their are chemicals in it to help the plants and ward off bugs, these same chemicals are deadly to hamsters if exposed to it for to long or it is surronding them!

Hope I helped! And Good luck!

Not advisable to use shredded paper that has ink on it. Earth soil too messy. The pet shops do a litter that is absorbant and lasts a reasonable time before needing changing. If you buy it in bulk, you will save on cost.

Toilet paper too flimsey and disintergrates quickly. Straw can be used, and perhaps you can get it at a large garden centre.

Say hello to your Hamster for me will you.

Wood shavings could be used, but not sawdust.

Printer paper is the best out of what you mentioned. You'd need to clean it AT LEAST once a week. Preferably twice. I use something called Eco- bedding for my gerbils and they seen to like it. It is cheap and basically is shredded recycled paper with better absorbency.

Hope I helped :)

When we had hamsters, we used ripped-up toilet paper and wood shavings. Boggy (the hamster) lived almost two years, the bedding was changed every few days.

We had a colony of gerbils that shredded our paper and cardboard so we would desire to then placed it on the compost heap. in my opinion i think of it sounds like countless attempt for one piece of paper. i'd particularly use an undemanding shredder and then placed it interior the cage for bedding!

I wouldnt recommend any of them if the ink gets on their paws and they lick it off they get sick. Fake soil has chemicals which is also in heathy
