Breeding a guinea pig?

My guinea pig who is 11 months old has already given birth to a litter of 3 healthy babies on April 21st and it's now August 14 and im wondering is it ok for her to be bred again?

It's never 100% safe to breed a Guinea pig, it's never 100% safe to breed any animal, but Guinea pigs are particularly fragile when it come to breeding.



If you are attached to the female I'd recommend against it, as they have a high mortality rate.



That said the prime age for a pig to breed is before nine months or her pelvis hardens making birth almost impossible, but with you breeding her recently she shouldn't have that issue.



I think she is O.K to breed but not at peak, also please make sure you have homes lined up for them before you breed.
