My sister's hamster is sick. But we have no idea what to do. He's not doing anything, just lying there, and he won't eat or drink anything. We know he's still alive, cause he makes little skueaky noises when we touch him, or poke him. My sister's friend said that he might be choking on something, or might be comstipated (She said it happened to her friend's hamster) PLEASE HELP!

Take a deep breath... Hamster's get sick everyone does... If your Hamster has constipation (unlikly with his symptoms) make sure fresh water is avalible(u can squirt some in with an eye dropper) Al so fresh fruits and veggies can be helpfull. If he has runny eyes, teary eyes this could indicate foods stuck in the food pouch and he could be choking. This occurs if you feed you hamster too much soft fruits and vegetable. use an eye dropper to flush it out. to avoid this by giving your pet small pieces and watching to make sure he doesn't hoard it. So basicly just flush out his mouth and then make a little go down his throat after all food is out... To check if he's just constipated poke his side from top down and see if more discomfort seems to occur lower down. Best of luck

i had this problem with my first hamster. all hamster get sick i and i know because i had a lot of personal experience bring it straight to the vet or leave it alone so it could die in peace. the hamster doesnt choke its because it is in pain when it squeaks like that i am so sorry but i had that happen to my first hamster. it can be because u had given it too any treats because hamsters cant get a lot of treats. your hamster should be left alone and it will die but the best thing to do is if your quick enough bring it to the vet asap and they will tell you what is wrong.

i hope this helped if you have anymore question please email me at lia_cookie25@yahoo.com
