I was looking on Kaytee Fiesta's food for Mice and Rats and was wondering if this is a good food is I pick out the corn, seeds, and any other fatty foods like seeds and such?

I don't personally don't know about that particular type of food, but I would NEVER recommend Kaytee. I used a different Kaytee food for my rat. In case someone does not read the rest of my comment I will just state now to NOT use the food I used (Kaytee Pro-Health) A month later she became very sick. Her food had been recalled for salmonella poisoning, and the company did a poor job of notifying owners. We in fact had to go through a ridiculous amount of trouble to find out if it was the food that made her sick. She died the next day at the vet. I am getting 2 more rats soon. I am still in the process of researching food, and will edit my answer when I find a good source, but no, I would not use that food.

No. You are always better to go with a lab block, because seed mixes have a protein and fat content way higher than a rat needs for a daily diet. Not to mention the pet food brand KAYTEE had a recall on their rat blocks last month because they were contaminated with salmonella. You can read about it here
Instead I would reccomend a different soy based rat block like
-Martins
-Harland Tekland
-Oxbow
Hope this helped, Good luck :)

edit: I just read what the user May wrote. This is what I mean by I would not trust the company! As for May, if you read this I am incredibley sorry for your loss :(

If you take out all the corn and most of the sunflower seeds (a small amount is fine) then its an ok food. I would rather feed that than an over processed, boring lab block with crap ingredients (the only one that has decent ingredients is oxbow). I wouldnt feed it by itself. I would use it as a base to a shunamite mix
That would ensure they get what they need without supplementing but if you feed part homemade mix it will have better ingredients and more variety.
EDIT: I didn't know about the recall. I wouldn't feed anything kaytee.

No, because there is just way too many bad foods in it. I would suggest the blocks by Kaytee Pro Health Pellets, and make your own food-YouTube/google it
