I have one old and lonely female mouse.
Well, she isn't that old, (My previous mouse lived to 4).
She's about 12 months old, and is abit 'dodgy'.
She is infertile (I tried to breed her when she was younger.) and has a blind eye.

But she is tolerant old lass... she lived with a -excited young male- ... for about 5 months, with only one little fight. She does steal food off cage-mates though lol.

So yeah, she is sad and lonely.

Can I get a young female mouse for a friend? (I would get her at 3 weeks old)
How do you think I should go about introducing? (I would scrub cage down - neutral territory)

I know you can with rats.

Also, If it doesn't go well, I can EASILY sell her or give her to a ppet shop

What do you think? Have you ever done this before?

Yes! We got my adult mouse a tiny baby mouse and they love eachother.

We just put them in a plastic box to introduce them which is now the new mouse's cage, (we have to keep them seperate for a while, the new mouse got out of the bars of the cage) and the old mouse stiffed her out and now they are the best of friends!

You shouldn't have to give her to the petshop, my introducing method above worked out perfectly with no problems.

I believe what Andy said too.

You could get two young rats, I mean mice, that way, everyone should be taken care of :)

I just went through almost the exact same thing, about 6months ago with my rat. Charlotte was "old" and when her sisters passed, I went out and purchased a young female,Jax. Well, charlotte died that afternoon, so I went back and bought her sister, apples, for her. :)

It's possible, but you have to realise that at a year old, chances are that (and I'm sorry to say this but it is the unfortunate truth) she won't live too much longer, so then the young one will be alone and you'll have to arrange a friend for her as well.

confident, male mice mature and grow to be fertile quicker than the female. So it fairly is available. And to while its to previous: at some million 365 days and 5 months. the only stay on the conventional of two years so which you do no longer prefer to finally end up the mother die and he or she nonetheless have domestic dogs to be takin care of.
