I am getting 2 guinea pigs... and I am still deciding, BEDDING VS. FLEECE?? I'm like "I'm thinking about getting fleece", but, I don't know how to keep them from going under the fleece, so then I'm like "Ok, I'll just use bedding", but what if fleece works better?? I am so confused!!! So please tell me past experiences with guinea pigs and bedding, and tell me how to keep your guinea pigs from crawling underneath the fleece once you put it down?? I am getting this cage.

Fleece! It's so much cuter. You can make your cage your own style. They don't go under the fleece. Just put some stuff in the corners of it so it weighs it down.

But do not use these types of bedding if you choose bedding -

Cedar Bedding - Very dangerous to guinea pigs. It causes respiratory problems and allergies.

Clay-based or clumping Cat Litter - Guinea pigs are very curious and like to eat everything - if they eat this they'll become very sick.

Sawdust - Guinea pigs could breath it in and cause lung damage.

Newspaper or Shredded paper - The ink on it will cause your guinea pigs to get very sick, unless you use printer paper, with nothing on it, but it will be very expensive.

You can find out pros and cons about fleece, how to insert it in the cage, and pros and cons about bedding at http://hubpages.com/hub/fleeceforbedding.

Good luck! Hope I helped.

use both. Do half and half like the pic of ur cage. Then see which one you or your guinea pigs like best. Also you could if you want fleece because it is easier to scoop(lift fleece and throw poo away) then use fleece with bedding over it. bedding they can burrow in by the way and it adsorbs their urine more so it doesn't smell as bad

fleece because i had a guinea pig and he kept kicking the bedding outta the cage so to save on cleaning up the bedding off the floor i would get fleece

I prefer Bedding because my Guinea Pig loves to play and hop around in it and it smell less bad, but it does fall on the floor and you have to clean it up but not much falls ;)

I prefer bedding, but I personally dont use carefresh bedding because to me it makes the cage smell horrible after a day of my piggy using it so I stay far away from it and have better results
