What couldve happened to my guinea pig?

She was 5 years old, when i arrived home from the hospital after one half a day and one full day i found her unable to walk. She would have little seizures as well. Eventually she got to where she could crawl but small distances. She was very weak and wouldnt drink and tried eating some lettuce but couldnt. What coulve happened to her?? im devastated from this loss and wish i knew what happened, please help :(

Sounds like she died of old age. 5 years is old for a Guinea pig, and the symptoms you describe are pretty normal for old Guinea pigs when they die.

Yeh, it just sounds like old age. With the guinea pigs I have at home, when they reach a certain age they tend to slow down. But for her to have been fine a few days ago and then suddenly come to a stop is a little bit odd. Maybe there was a protagonist which perpetuated her sudden death? ie virus.

I am so sorry for your loss, it is very hard when one of your beloved pets moves on. I hope you feel better soon.
